The CGPA to percentage formula
On the 10-point scale, CBSE converts CGPA to percentage with a simple multiplier: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5. So 9 CGPA = 85.5%, 8 CGPA = 76% and 7 CGPA = 66.5%. The 9.5 factor comes from the average marks of students who scored between 91 and 100 in board exams.
On the 4-point scale the common linear conversion is Percentage = (GPA ÷ 4) × 100. Some universities and employers use their own formula instead — if your result is for an official application, always confirm the formula your university publishes.
