How to Use the Age Calculator

  1. Enter your date of birth.
  2. Choose the date to calculate to — today is selected automatically.
  3. Click Calculate and read your exact age in years, months and days.
  4. Scroll for fun totals: days lived, hours, minutes, and the day of the week you were born.

Why Exact Age Matters

Many official processes depend on your precise age on a specific date. School admissions often require a child to be a certain age by a cut-off date. Government jobs and exams in Pakistan and India set minimum and maximum ages in years, months and days. Passport, CNIC and visa forms ask for date of birth, and retirement and pension plans count service the same way. Counting manually across leap years is slow and error-prone; this calculator handles the calendar for you in one click.

How the Calculation Works

The tool subtracts your birth date from the target date the way people naturally state age: full years first, then full months, then the remaining days. It accounts for months with different lengths and for leap years, so a person born on 29 February is handled correctly too. The totals are counted in whole days between the two dates, then converted to hours and minutes.

Is my date of birth uploaded anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser on your own device.

Age Calculation Around the World

Most countries now count age the Western way: your age increases on your birthday. A few traditions differ. In parts of East Asia, babies were traditionally counted as one year old at birth, with everyone gaining a year together at New Year — South Korea officially switched to the international system in 2023. In Pakistan and India, official documents always use the date-of-birth method this calculator follows, counting completed years, months and days. When a form asks for “age as on” a given date, enter that date as the target date here and copy the exact years, months and days it shows. That one habit prevents most age-related form rejections, especially for school admissions, competitive exams and government job applications with strict age limits.

Fun Age Facts Worth Sharing

Your age in days is a milestone number people love to celebrate: 10,000 days alive happens at about 27 years and 4 months. Your “golden birthday” is the year your age matches your birth date — born on the 15th, your golden birthday is your 15th. Half-birthdays fall exactly six months after your real birthday. And the weekday you were born is shown by this calculator, a small detail that birth certificates rarely record but families love to know. Try an elderly relative’s birth date and the totals in weeks and days often surprise everyone.

Keep a screenshot of the result when you use it for an application: if an institution questions the age on your form, you can show the exact years, months and days you calculated and the dates you used.
